Raquel Ravinet joined the TherAplay staff part-time in February 2002. During her first year, Raquel worked at TherAplay as a volunteer coordinator, fill-in horse handler, office manager, billing manager and general jack-of-all-trades. In May 2003, she joined the staff full-time as a Director of Operations and then Executive Director.

The majority of Raquel's career has been spent working with nonprofit organizations. Prior to her work at TherAplay, she was the Executive Director of the Neighborhood Self-Employment Initiative, a nonprofit that helps people create and develop their own small businesses, and Program Director for the Indiana Library Federation.

Breinne Risner discovered her deep appreciation for children while living in Ft. Collins, Colorado working at the Boys and Girls Club, a nonprofit organization that provides a positive place for kids. Though her time spent with kids was extremely rewarding, the days could be quite chaotic and hectic. In search of a calming outlet, Breinne started volunteering at Lazy J. Bar S Ranch, grooming and feeding the horses. The self-prescribed "therapy" made her a strong believer in the power of horses to heal and nurture.

After a couple of years hiking through the mountains and paddling through the rivers of Colorado, Breinne decided it was time to return home to be closer to her family. Still feeling the need to be around horses, she started volunteering in the barns of TherAplay. After helping out at the annual Hoe-Down, she knew she wanted to be part of this amazing organization. So it was with much elation and enthusiasm that Breinne joined the TherAplay staff in January 2005.
Breinne graduated from Ball State University in 2000. A few of her passions include music, animals, traveling and the outdoors.
Dana Mitchell, billing manager, joined theraplay in 2008. She has an associate degree in health care management, worked as an accounts payable administrator and an employee of the famous BMV. Medical insurance and all of its quirks are quickly becoming her specialty.

Dana is a people person at heart and has always loved horses as well.  She says "Horses have always put me at ease, and this is even more evident since I started working here at TherAplay".  When not working, Dana's time is filled with her family, enjoying the outdoors and photography.  She has a three year old son, Caleb, and a dog, Bruno, who thinks he's her other child.
