Gretchen graduated from Purdue in 2005 with a Bachelors of Science in Veterinary Technology and then went into small animal practice, working as a Registered Veterinary Technician.  During high school she volunteered for a children's adaptive riding program and found the experience very rewarding, so when the opportunity presented itself for a career change the choice was an easy one.

Gretchen was in Pony Club, worked as an equine veterinary assistant and drove horse carriages in downtown Indy.  She has been involved in Eventing ever since she began riding as a child and still enjoys competing in the sport.  Gretchen lives in Sheraton with her husband, two horses, three miniature donkeys and four dogs.  Her other interests include outdoor activities and aviation.

Sarah began riding horses at age 4 and since then has known that her career must include them in some capacity.  She grew up riding her pony through the fields around her family farm, but eventually began riding hunters and jumpers.  She is just starting her career at TherAplay and couldn't be happier.

In her spare time, she enjoys many outdoor activities besides riding, with camping, hiking and backpacking being her favorites.  She keeps busy at home with two dogs, two cats, a new house and her family.

Carroll has been a horse lover her entire life so the opportunity to work with the TherAplay horses twice a week provides great satisfaction and exercise.  She enjoys witnessing the wonderful benefits of the horse/patient interaction seen on a daily basis with the children who receive therapy.

Carol organizes a camp for the siblings of TherAplay patients each summer, a fun filled week of horses, arts and crafts and games as well as crazy rides around the farm in the wagon.  Carol and her husband live in Carmel with their youngest daughter, Emma, and a dog named Rosie.  The two older daughters are attending college.

K. C. is a senior at IUPUI, she plans to go to graduate school for Speech Language Pathology.  K.C. has been riding for 15 years, mainly for events.  She also spent 10 years in Pony Club and received her "HA" rating.

Aside from her duties at TherAplay, K. C. has been teaching kids to ride since she was 13 years old and has been retraining horses since she was 15.  She loves working with off the track thoroughbreds and has owned five of her own.  When she finishes graduate school, K. C. hopes to buy another thoroughbred and compete again.

Shanti began riding horses at age 8 and fell in love.  Her parents tried to get her to go to dance or gymnastics class but refused because she had already found her passion.  As a teenager, Shanti taught at a summer horse camp and was always willing to volunteer for the children with special needs.

Throughout college, Shanti continued to ride and show her horses and at age 22, sold her last horse to pursue a career.  Shanti worked for Este Louder for 15 years and was an account executive for the last nine years.  Now over 20 years later, she is very happy to be back working with horses and to be involved in TherAplay's program.  Shanti is able to apply not only her horse skills, but her planning and sales skills as well to benefit the program.
