Lisa Buttergaugh joined the TherAplay team in May of 2007. Lisa attended Butler University and Indiana University-Purdue University, Indianapolis and graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Medical Sociology. She received her Master's of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2007 from Indiana University. Lisa's interest in hippotherapy began when she was in high school and volunteered at an adaptive writing facility as a sidewalker an American Sign Language translator. During graduate school, Lisa completed two clinical fieldwork rotations at TherAplay. In addition, she has an extensive background with horses that includes competitive riding and teaching lessons.








Lisa is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), American Hippotherapy Association (AHA), and the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA). She is currently an AHA Level II therapist. Lisa is a First Steps and Medicaid provider. In addition, Lisa has attended numerous continuing education courses and conferences in the area of sensory integration. Lisa resides in the Butler Tarkington area. She enjoys gardening, spending time outdoors, and spelunking.

Julie Bowman joined the TherAplay team in January of 2008. She graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor's of Science in Health Studies and from the University of Indianapolis with a Masters in Occupational Therapy.
Julie completed her clinical experience in acute rehabilitation and at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and at Library Park Rehabilitation in pediatrics.

Julie is a member of North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA) and the American Hippotherapy Association (AHA). Julie has obtained her AHA Level 1 certification and is a Medical and First Steps provider. She enjoys incorporating hippotherapy into occupational therapy to create a client-centered approach for the pediatric population. Julie resides in Carmel with her husband Ryan and cats Cleo and Ari. She enjoys fixing up her new house, traveling, exercising and spending time with family and friends.

Jakey Wrin has been a member of the TherAplay team since September 2003. She is a graduate of Indiana University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Occupational Therapy. Jackie has a variety of clinical experience, working in adult rehabilitation and pediatrics. She is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA)and the American Hippotherapy Association (AHA). Jackie is a North American Riding for the Handicapped registered therapist and an AHA Level II therapist. She is also a Medicaid and First Steps provider.






Jackie began her interaction at TherAplay as a volunteer, and consequently she came interested in joining the staff. She enjoys working with and using horses as a treatment tool in her therapy sessions. Jackie has attended numerous continuing education courses focusing on adult rehab and pediatrics and focus on sensory integration. She also has been trained in the Plaquemines and oral motor assessment tool.
Jackie, her husband John, and two daughters Lily and in Madeleine live in Terre Haute close to grandparents, aunts and uncles. They are in the design process of building their house.
