Volunteering

The work of The Children's TherAplay Foundation would not be possible without the help of our dedicated volunteers. We appreciate any and all help, regardless of the frequency of hours. We have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities, including:

     s
Side-walking while the patient is riding the horse
         to provide support and safety.

s  Helping out in the barn (all barn volunteers must
complete additional training and testing to
         assure safety)

s  Helping keep our clinic clean and in tip-top shape.
(Many of our kiddos have lowered or impaired
immune systems, so this is important.)

s  General office help -- filing, data entry, etc.

s  Helping as an organizer or day-of volunteer for
special or fundraising events, like our Annual
Hoe-Down, Golf Outing, Holiday Festival, etc.

We ask that our volunteers be:

     s
At least 13 years of age

s  Able to work independently without close
         supervision. (We're a small non-profit and like
         most, are short-staffed.)

s  Able to walk a minimum of 5 miles (for side-
         walkers)

     s  Lift 30 lbs overhead (for side-walkers)

s  Tolerate varying temperatures and a dusty
environment (after all, our facility is in a barn)
