Kiddo Becca has been receiving equine-assisted physical and occupational therapies at Children’s TherAplay for three years now.
And while she has made one gain after another – developing the strength and coordination to be able to ride a tricycle and to jump, as well as the motor-planning and sensory regulation skills to start potty-training – from Becca’s perspective, her biggest gain is about 950 pounds.
Because this precious child has fallen in love with therapy horse Gideon.
Week after week he provides the three-dimensional movement that, through the treatment strategy of hippotherapy, helps Becca flourish. But when Becca sees Gideon, she sees more. She loves this horse. What a beautiful gift.
So, as we’re giving thanks this Thanksgiving season, we’re thinking of you.
Thank you for helping make hippotherapy – and this love! – possible for Becca and nearly 200 other Central Indiana children who have special needs.
Enjoy what Becca's parents had to share about their daughter's journey at Children's TherAplay.
